High Summer

"High Summer" is a 12x12x1.5 Mixed Media Painting on canvas, inspired the gorgeous flowers and hummingbird in my friend's garden!

It was a glorious August summer afternoon when I painted this piece in my friend's Smokey Mountain Cottage garden filled with beautiful flowers.  To me it captures the lush greenery and full-bloom feeling of a perfect summer day. A hummingbird and friend slip through the garden of peonies, daisies and a bright orange ranunculus! 

Mixed media elements include handmade monoprints, sheet music, handmade Nepalese paper and old book pages.
