Be the Sunshine

"Be the Sunshine" is a 12x12x1.5 Mixed Media Painting on canvas.

This is a new piece in my "Sweet Messages" series, and the quote in the top left reads:

"If You Can't Find the Sunshine, Be the Sunshine."

When I was a child, my grandmother called me her "sunshine girl," and the message of this painting could truly be a personal mantra. When times are dark, we must look to ourselves to be the light. This painting is filled with the bright colors of zinnias, dahlias and a flying hummingbird. 

Mixed media elements include handmade monoprints, sheet music, handmade Nepalese paper and old book pages.  The sides are painted in a dark "Shadow Green," and the back is fitted with hardware to hang without a frame. Signed and titled on reverse.
