Rising Up, a 12x12x2 inch mixed media painting on canvas, depicts a hummingbird soaring up towards a blooming peony in a garden of zinnias and butterflies -- a symbol of a fresh start and optimism.

The mixed media layers of this painting include pages from a French romance novel, handmade mono printed papers, handmade Nepalese paper, a map and other snippets of papers from my travels.

Signed & titled on reverse and fitted with wire to hang on the wall without a frame. Sides are painted Payne's Gray.
