"True Colors"

True Colors is a 20x20 x 1.75 inch original mixed media painting on canvas. This painting is inspired by the 1986 classic by Cyndi Lauper.  The painting features a girl holding a red bird while both of their "true colors come shining through."   In addition to handmade and vintage paper, a page from a fairy tale and other collage materials, the painting includes lyrics and sheet music from the song, and you can see them peeking through the paint.   I listened to the song while painting and it touched my heart all over again!! Such a powerful message.   (The sides are painted in a mixture of white and titan buff to match the painting)
