This Bright New Day

"This Bright New Day" is a 12x12x1" Mixed Media Painting on canvas.

Growing up, my favorite things was to sip tea with my grandma Rose on her balcony -- and we always used her collection of blue and white porcelain teacups. So, for Mother's Day this year, I've created several sweet bouquets featuring grandma's signature porcelain. This piece, features an array of bright blooms: zinnias, peonies, a pink sunflower and wildflowers as well as 3 different birds.

Mixed media elements include handmade monoprints, sheet music, handmade Nepalese paper and old book pages.  The sides are painted in dark teal, and the back is fitted with hardware to hang without a frame. Signed and titled on reverse.
