"Walking on Sunshine" is a 20x16 x 1.75 inch original mixed media painting on canvas. This painting is inspired by the happy 1985 song of the same title by Katrina and the Waves. It features bright, colorful birds with pops of yellow sunshine, text, fairy tales and bits of glittery paper mixed in with other collage papers. The painting includes lyrics and sheet music from the song, and you can see them peeking through the paint and bits of collage paper. I listened to the song while painting and smiled the whole time. (sides are painted in a neutral color to match the painting).
Some of the lyrics:
I used to think maybe you loved me
Now, baby, I'm sure
And I just can't wait 'til the day
When you knock on my door
Now, baby, I'm sure
And I just can't wait 'til the day
When you knock on my door
Now every time I go for the mailbox
Gotta hold myself down
'Cause I just can't wait 'til you write me
You're coming around
Gotta hold myself down
'Cause I just can't wait 'til you write me
You're coming around
Now I'm walking on sunshine
I'm walking on sunshine
I'm walking on sunshine
And it's starting to feel good, hey
All right now
And it's starting to feel good
I'm walking on sunshine
I'm walking on sunshine
And it's starting to feel good, hey
All right now
And it's starting to feel good
