"Starting Over"

"Starting Over" is a 24x24x1.5 inch Mixed Media Painting on canvas. 

 This painting features 2 sweet bluebirds in a field of zinnias. I started this painting the day before Hurricane Helene stormed into my town of Asheville, NC. As I was painting, I was so frustrated by the dull light. It was oddly hard to see even in my favorite, best-lit painting spot. Soon it was clear why the skies had been so dark that day. I put the painting inside and finished it the week after losing my studio to the record flooding in the River Arts District. The day I added the final touches was a sparkling, clear, sunny day full of hope.  May this painting always remind you that new beginnings are possible.

Mixed media elements include many layers of abstract collage, handmade mono printed papers and other paper from my collection. Painting is fitted with wire and ready to hang on the wall without a frame. Signed and titled on reverse.
