"Home for Christmas"
Home for Christmas is a 12x12x1.75 inch original mixed media painting on canvas. This painting is inspired by the song of the same title written by Kim Gannon and composer Walter Kent and originally recorded by Bing Crosby in 1943 (Iet's just consider this a Top 40 Forever tune, though NSYNC did have a hit with this song in 2017!). The scene here is based on memories of childhood Christmases spent with my dad in upstate NY in a 100 year old house that he lovingly restored. Mixed media include, pages from the fairy tale story "Little Claus," tissue paper, handmade Nepalese paper, my own hand-painted papers, and bits of pink glitter.
Signed & titled on reverse and fitted with wire to hang on the wall without a frame.
Lyrics from Home for Christmas:
I'll be home for Christmas;
You can plan on me.
Please have snow and mis-tle-toe
And presents on the tree.
Christmas eve will find me
Where the love light gleams.
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams.
