A Year of Flowers - Joy of Painting 2026

Joy of Painting 2026 — A Year of Flowers is a full year of mixed-media painting inspired by the language, beauty, and emotion of FLOWERS. Each month, you’ll dive into a new flower and learn how to capture its spirit from every angle, use it as a design tool, paint if from life, and more! CLASS BEGINS JANUARY 1, 2026.  Reserve your spot. Awesome bonus classes included, too!

My goal this year is to help you build deep floral fluency so you can paint flowers confidently, intuitively, and from memory and life. Whether you’re sketching in your journal, creating a large canvas, or adding florals to a portrait, you’ll finally understand how flowers work — and how to make them sing in your art.

🌸 What You’ll Learn Each Month

For each Flower-of-the-Month, I’ll teach you:

  • How to draw the flower’s structure from at least three main angles

  • How to paint the flower realistically from life

  • How to paint the flower from memory using my repeatable painting pathways

  • How to turn the flower into a compositional element using shape, rhythm, color, contrast, and movement

  • How to stylize the flower in your own expressive voice

  • How to use the flower in mixed-media layers and larger works

  • Class also includes reference photos, downloads, and practice exercises to help you deepen your floral mastery.
