I'll Write My Own Fairytale

"I'll Write My Own Fairytale" is a 10x10x.75 inch mixed media painting on canvas.  This piece is part of my "Fairyland" series, painted while on site in Ireland. This piece, was inspired by the fields of green, rolling hills and changing skies of the Irish landscape.  There was much risk-taking in this painting because the first layer of the sky is a delicate monoprint on rice paper. So nothing could really be changed if I wanted to allow it too peek through the composition.  It was an exercise in trusting myself, and that is where the title comes from, too!

This is a mixed media collage, built up by layering bright acrylic paint, bits of paper from my collection -- including handmade mono prints and book pages from a fairy tale.

The painting is signed,  and it is titled on reverse.
