Above All Else, Love
"Above All Else, Love" is a 9x12x.2 inch Painting on deep cradled canvas.
This is a butterfly love story. The pink one on the top left is irresistibly drawn to the butterfly holding this collection of luminous autumn chrysanthemums & zinnias. It reminds me of the quote by Rumi: "Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray." I was thinking of that quote as I painted this piece, and then I found a little scrap of paper that read: "Above All Else, Love." (on the bottom right). It felt meant to be!
Mixed media elements include handmade monoprints and printed tissue paper.
The sides are painted in teal green to match the front, and the back is fitted with hardware to hang without a frame. Signed and titled on reverse.
